Putin Set to Attend APEC Summit Next Month, May Attend G20 Summit

  • President Putin still intends to attend the G20 summit in Bali but will give his final decision closer to the event due to security concerns, said the country’s ambassador to Indonesia. His attendance will depend on the state of the conflict in Ukraine and other security matters.
  • Putin has also accepted Thailand’s invitation to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Bangkok next month, Bangkok Post reported, citing an unidentified security official. Citing the newspaper, Bloomberg say Thailand’s Foreign Ministry has asked security agencies to make security arrangement for the Nov 18-19 meeting. US President Joe Biden will send a representative for the meeting while Chinese President Xi Jinping’s attendance is still pending confirmation.
  • Putin today will participate in the plenary session of Russian Energy Week in Moscow. Weekly inflation data crosses at 1700BST/1900 local time while the Bank of Russia will report on inflation trends.
