ARGENTINA: Q3 Unemployment Rate, November Trade Balance Due
ARGENTINA
- Unemployment rate figures for the third quarter will be published at 1900GMT(1400ET), alongside November trade data. In Q2, the unemployment rate stood at 7.6%, while analysts see the trade surplus remaining broadly steady, around $800mn.

- In other news, President Milei said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that he expects President-elect Trump would be inclined to negotiate a free-trade agreement with Argentina, even as he pledges tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico. Milei said it’s highly likely as Argentina is a strategic ally of the US.
- Milei also reiterated that he is seeking a new program from the IMF, which would allow his government to lift currency controls next year. He also said that a balanced budget is non-negotiable, and the rule is that there will be no more deficits in the country. Milei said next year's financial needs have been met and that the government is doing all it can to return to international markets in 2026.
