US TSY FLOWS
US TSY FLOWS: Quiet start to the week on light volumes in rate futures (TYU <
835k), Tsys weaker all day but off midmorning lows after the bell, yld curves
steeper. Tsys opened near overnight lows, extending bottom end of the range
despite weekend protests (at times violent with a minority setting fires,
looting) over social/racial justice after George Floyd's death. Multiple cities
including NY implementing curfews again tonight.
- Equities actually trading higher (ESM0 +10.0 after the bell) after Hang Seng
climbed
3.4% after Fri's speech by Trump proved ineffectual (trade angst cooled, at
least temporarily).
- Amazon 6pt jumbo lion's share of Mon's over $18B issuance;no coupon selling
this week.
- Many plied sidelines ahead week's headline data (prior, estimate), NFP
estimates improved while unemployment rate estimate nears 20%.
- The 2-Yr yield is down 0.2bps at 0.1584%, 5-Yr is up 0.2bps at 0.3052%, 10-Yr
is up 1bps at 0.6624%, and 30-Yr is up 5.2bps at 1.4586%.
