Range of Measures Introduced to Contribute to German Gas Cuts

Further measures approved today by the German government to reduce domestic gas demand:

  • A ban on heating private swimming pools
  • Stopping the heating of some areas in public buildings
  • Cutting the minimum office temp to 19 Celsius (66 Fahrenheit)
  • Banning most outside lighting for buildings and monuments
  • Boosting energy efficiency in public and private buildings
  • “every contribution counts” Habeck said on the measures.
