Repsol’s Puertollano Refinery Starts Works for 60 Days

Repsol’s 135kb/d Puertollano refinery in Spain is undergoing at overhaul lasting 60 days which started on Monday Mar. 4.

  • A total of 20 units are involved in the shutdown including the vacuum unit, the FCC and a coker.
  • A compressor steam turbine will be replaced by an electric motor reducing CO2 emissions by 17k tons per year.
  • The works are aimed at energy efficiency and decarbonization to reduce CO2 emissions by 30k tons per year and moving toward low-carbon fuels.
