Ringgit Slips On Risk Aversion

MYR

Persistent turmoil on Ukraine's eastern border has prompted spot USD/MYR to re-open on a firmer footing. Local headline flow has been overshadowed by eastern European geopolitical goings-on.

  • Spot USD/MYR last sits +42 pips at MYR4.1845. A break above Feb 14 high of MYR4.1945 would encourage bulls to take aim at Jan 27 high of MYR4.2070. Meanwhile, losses past the 200-DMA/yesterday's low at MYR4.1783/70 would expose Feb 4 low of MYR4.1762.
  • The domestic data docket is headlined by monthly CPI report, due for release on Thursday.
