Russia Refined Exports Set For 15-Month Low

OIL PRODUCTS

Russia’s exports of refined products are set for a 15-month low, amid strong domestic road fuel demand and some products pricing above the G7 cap.

  • Russia shipped 2.24m b/d between Aug. 1-20, down 14% on July, according to Vortexa. This is the lowest level since Aug. 2022.
  • The government has also recommended producers to redirect gasoline and diesel supplies to the domestic market as the market remains in peak driving season during August.
  • Several Russian oil products have also breached the G7 price cap, which under the regulations would block their access to western vessels and insurance.
  • Diesel and gasoil exports – 45% of petroleum exports - fell to just below 1m b/d. Gasoline exports fell 43% to 66k b/d.
  • Fuel oil flows collapsed to their lowest level since March 2022 at 624k b/d.
  • Russian exports are being scrutinized to infer crude output since Russia’s does not publicize its official data.
