Russian Refinery Maintenance September Expected to Boost Crude Exports

Russia will increase its crude exports in September on the back of higher refinery maintenance according to Reuters sources. An easing of Spring maintenance has allowed exports to be diverted to domestic refineries at present to produce oil products which have mostly seen their exports boosted as a result.

  • Russian refineries are expected to cut runs by some 195,000 bpd or 0.8 million tonnes in September from August amid seasonal maintenance meaning that volumes can be diverted to export markets.
  • Russian western port exports could return to May levels according to the Reuters sources.
