Russian Seaborne Crude Exports Edge Higher

Russian seaborne crude shipments in the four weeks to 18 February edged up to 3.27mbpd, compared with 3.25mbpd in the previous period according to Bloomberg.

  • Russia pledged to cut crude oil shipments by 300kbpd during 1Q 2024.
  • Shipments in the four weeks to 18 February to Asia fell to 2.84mbpd, down from 2.91mbpd the previous period.
  • Around 1.21mbpd of crude was loaded onto tankers heading to China, while flows signaling India averaged around 960kbpd.
  • The four-week average continues to be affected by the storm that closed the Pacific port of Kozmino for five days in the week to 28 January and disruptions to shipments from Ust-Luga caused by a drone strike on a neighboring condensate refinery, followed by several days of maintenance at the Baltic crude export terminal.
