Russian Urals Shipped to Star Refinery Doubled in October

Russian Urals flows to Socar’s 200kbpd Star refinery in Turkey rose to 400k tons in October, up from 200k tons in September and from 280kbpd in August, after a financing deal with Lukoil, ship-tracking data cited by Bloomberg showed.

  • Under the deal, Lukoil will lend Socar $1.5bn to allow the Star refinery to process Russian crude again, Reuters said in October. Supplies are expected at around 100kbpd, equivalent to around 4 cargoes per month.
  • All September, October cargoes were loaded by Lukoil from the port of Primorsk. From January-August, all cargoes were loaded from Tatneft and KazTransOil.
