It seems that Davao City Mayor and incumbent Philippine President's daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio is back in the game and may run for president in the 2022 race after all. She dropped her re-election bid Tuesday, noting that her brother Sebastian will replace her as mayoral candidate. Duterte-Carpio withdrew her mayoral bid just days before the November 15 deadline for replacing presidential candidates.

  • Lawmaker Joey Salceda, a close ally of Duterte-Carpio, told ANC this morning that "she's running for president." Salceda added that she will probably join and run under the banner of Lakas-CMD.
