Saudi September Crude Arrivals at Covid-Era Low

OIL

Saudi Arabia supplied surprisingly high crude volumes to their buyers in the month of August according to Vortexa, drawing down seaborne inventories (floating storage and in-transit volumes) by 1.5mbd on average. The volumes came out of floating because of Saudi’s well publicised cuts.

  • September arrivals may now come in at a multi-decade low, being on par with the lowest Covid-era month (July 2021) over the first 24 days of the month. Saudi oil at sea volumes have barely recovered from a end-August low.
