Slovenia To Sign Three-Year Gas Import Deal With Algeria

Slovenia’s gas supplier Geoplin is expected to sign a natural gas supply contract with Algeria’s Sonatrach on Tuesday, according to the Slovenian Press Agency.

  • The three-year contract includes the delivery of around 300mcm/yr via the Trans-Mediterranean pipeline from Algeria to Slovenia.
  • In 2018, Geoplin signed a five-year natural gas supply contract with Gazprom to import 600mcm/yr but since the start of the conflict Slovenia is looking for alternative suppliers.
