CABLE: Sterling continues to push higher on the back of positive Brexit outlook.
PM Johnson at the weekend said in an interview with the Sunday Telegraph that
all 635 Conservative candidates standing in the Dec12 election have pledged that
if elected will vote in parliament to pass his Brexit Bill. Conservatives retain
a lead in polls. Cable had rallied to a high Friday of $1.2919, closing the week
at $1.2904. Fresh demand in Asia lifted rate on to $1.29323 through the session
to $1.2932, spiking on to $1.2955(76.4% 1.3013-1.2769) in opening European
trade. Focus today on the party leaders addressing the CBI, Conservatives
expected to offer cuts in business rates, Labour to propose apprenticeship
benefits, whilst the LibDems expected to push themselves forward as the party of
business as they are the only ones proposing a fresh referendum, favouring
staying in Europe. PM Johnson and Labour Corbyn televised debate Tuesday.
