Structural Faults Caused Mexico City Metro To Collapse

  • The collapse of a portion of a Mexico City metro line was due to structural faults during its construction, according to a probe conducted by Norwegian firm DNV, daily El Financiero reports.
    • Poor welding, porosity at joints, lack of bolts in some beams in the overpass that collapsed were among multiple issues found during DNV's investigation, a report of which El Financiero had access to.
