US TSYS: T-Notes continue to operate in a limited range, even with the latest,
cautious WSJ story re: ongoing issues in the U.S.-China trade talks and ongoing
tensions surrounding the extradition of Huawei CFO Meng from Canada, with China
asking from the U.S. to withdraw its request. The contract trades around session
lows at writing, with pressure on Asia-Pac equities abating into their
respective closes.
- As a reminder, Monday saw strong 2- & 5-Year auctions, which aided the short
end/belly of the curve, further promoting flattening, as dealer takedown
moderated across both sales, and both auctions stopped through.
- Yields trade little changed heading into London hours.
- The Eurodollar strip trades unchanged to 0.5 tick lower through the reds.
- Tuesday brings 7-Year & 2-Year FRN supply, with many U.S. data releases still
delayed owing to the shutdown. Focus will also fall on Apple's latest earnings
release and any rhetoric evident after the main Beijing delegation reached D.C.
ahead of the upcoming trade talks.
- T-Notes last 121.15, U.S. 10-Year cash Tsy yield last 2.744%.
