KIWI: The flightless bird opened in Asia at $0.6961 toward the lower side of the
$0.6954 to $0.7037 witnessed on Friday, where rising prospects US tax reform
continue to underpin both the dollar and US rate yields. New Zealand is closed
today for 'Labour Day' and therefore there is no domestic economic data. Focus
will be on potential policy and cabinet portfolio announcements by the new
government. This morning has seen the kiwi extend losses through Friday's low to
$0.6942. Support is seen at $0.6911 (May22 low), a break to open $0.6881 (May19
low), while hourly resistance is located just above $0.7000. Kiwi was last at
$0.7945.
