US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries are a little soft to open the week, with the curve
bear steepening and 10-Yr yields continuing to test the key 3.0% level.
- Cash 2-Yr Tsy yields are flat at 2.778%, with 10-Yr up 0.6bps at 3.001% and
30-Yr up 1.1bps at 3.142%.
- Ref. our technical analysis, the 10-Yr's 3.0% level is under attack as bulls
look to extend the rise in yields and overcome the Aug 1 high at 3.0139.
- T-note Dec18 future is a little lower, off 1/32 at 119-04.
- Eurodollar futures are a little off, trading 0.5-1.0 ticks across the strip.
- Market awaits news on a new round of tariffs on Chinese imports (reportedly
could be 10% on $200bln worth of goods, which could come as early as Monday. US
equity futures trading a little lower.
- Only key US data today is Sep Empire Manufacturing Index (prior 25.6, est.
23.8) at 0830ET.
- Reminder that the Fed media blackout kicked in Saturday, runs through Sep 27.
