US TSYS SUMMARY
US TSYS SUMMARY: Treasuries look set to end the week on a softer note, but the
sharp rise earlier in the week keeps futures near cycle highs.
- Jun 10-Yr futures (TY) last down 10.5/32 at 124-28; fairly tight range (L:
124-27 / H: 125-02.5) considering big moves in previous two sessions.
- Fairly typical volumes by comparison to Thursday's (TYM = 1.018mln contracts
traded by 1300ET, vs 1.508mln by that time Thurs).
- Futures caught a bid around 0730ET following headlines that an envoy from
China told BBG there had been no official talks about a Xi-Trump meeting.
- In the end, this amounted to little; even a late fade in equities failed to
push Tsys much higher.
- Curve bear flattening slightly, 2-Yr yield up 2.7bps at 2.1725%, 5-Yr up
1.3bps at 2.1272%, 10-Yr up 0.7bps at 2.3255%, and 30-Yr up 0.1bps at 2.7542%.
- Early market close Friday; reminder that markets are closed for Memorial Day
holiday on Monday.
- Data flow resumes on Tuesday, highlighted by Conf. Board confidence.
