EMISSIONS: UKA ICE Auction Clears Significantly Higher

The UKA ICE auction cleared at significantly higher at £44.5/ton CO2e, compared with £31.20/ton CO2e in the previous auction on 22 January according to ICE. 

  • The cover ratio was at 1.902, compared with 2.154 in the previous auction.
  • There was a total of 19 bids.
  • UKA Dec25 carbon allowances are holding onto gains since end of January, after the UK has requested that that re-linking the UK ETS with the EU ETS is part of the planned spring summit between the EU and the UK. UK allowances rallied following the sharp increase in the auction price. 
    • ICE UKA  Dec25 up 4.2% at 45.95 GBP/MT
