POLAND

Government spokesman Piotr Muller told PAP news agency that Poland continues to supply Ukraine with weapons and ammunition, but this is limited to previously agreed deals, including Ukrainian purchases of Polish military equipment.

  • At the same time, Muller complained that "there has been a series of absolutely unacceptable comments and diplomatic gestures from the Ukrainian side" and "there is no Polish agreement for such unjustified actions".
  • Separately, Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin said that Poland "supported, is supporting and will keep supporting Ukraine in its fight against Russia, because this is in our interest" as "Russia is an existential threat to Poland".
  • These comments were a clarification of yesterday's remarks by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who said that Poland has stopped transferring weapons to Ukraine amid ongoing tensions over grain imports.
  • Onet reports that Morawiecki's remarks did not reflect any fresh decision as "Poland doesn't donate weapons systems to Ukraine anymore because it doesn't have anything more to transfer," but keeps supplying spare parts or ammunition.
