US Crude Stock Draw Expected: WSJ Survey

US crude inventories likely declined in the week to Jan. 5, based on a survey by the WSJ.

  • The average estimate of the survey of 10 analysts and traders shows a draw of 0.6m bbl. This would put stocks at 430.5m bbl in total.
  • Expectations ranged from a draw of 3m bbl to a build of 2.1m bbl.
  • Gasoline inventories are expected to increase by 2.1m bbl, with estimates ranging from a 1m bbl draw to a 5m bbl build.
  • Distillate stocks are forecast to rise by 1m bbl, with responses between a 3.1m bbl draw and a 4.2m bbl build.
