US Delegation Looks to Reset Relations

  • The Turkish central bank is continuing preparations for fresh swap lines with other global central banks, with Sabah reporting that negotiations are underway with the Azerbaijan, South Korean and Japanese authorities.
  • In the latest attempt to move beyond the COVID-19 crisis, Turkey’s health minister Koca said that the number of cases and deaths in the country are now at their lowest levels in 18 months, leading the minister to state “It is time to put the coronavirus out of our minds”.
  • Looking ahead, focus turns to a speech from Altun, Erdogan’s communications director, who addresses the country’s approach to the Ukraine crisis. The comments are due at 10am local time (0300ET / 0800BST)
