US ENERGY – What to Watch: OPEC MOMR, ARA Crude & US Oil Stocks, US CPI

  • The latest Genscape European ARA crude inventories will be released today at 09:00GMT. Stocks last week fell further below normal to 44.57mbbl.
  • The EIA weekly petroleum inventory data for the week ending Feb. 7 is due for release today at 10:30ET (15:30GMT). A Bloomberg survey expects a 2.52mbbl build in U.S. crude stocks, a 0.54mbbl build in gasoline, a 1.48mbbl draw in distillates and a 0.17 percentage points rise in refinery utilisation.
  • The US CPI data is due at 08:30ET. Consensus sees core CPI inflation accelerating to a seasonally adjusted 0.3% M/M (unrounded 0.29%) in January after what was, for now, seen as a slightly softer than expected 0.225% M/M in December.
  • The OPEC Monthly Oil Market Report is due for release today (at 13:30 CET last month) with focus on the global market balance and future demand growth forecasts.
