US equity futures holding the bounce.......>

EQUITIES
EQUITIES: US equity futures holding the bounce from the lows well in recent
trade, with the e-mini S&P recovering back above the 2800 handle in recent
trade. Having underperformed well ahead of the open (the likes of Wells Fargo,
Citigroup and JPMorgan were lower by 1.5-2.0% pre-market), financials are now
ripping higher and helping stabilise indices more broadly. The global financial
stock index is now outperforming and has been so for the past hour or so - with
no particular catalyst crossing.
- Some positive M&A chatter had circulated (namely Wells Fargo and Goldman
Sachs) although this has been broadly disregarded, suggesting perhaps
short-covering or a dead cat bounce.
