US Gasoline Pump Price Fall Nearly $1/gal since June

US gasoline pump prices continue to fall with 23 states now reporting prices below $4/gal.

  • The average US retail price has fallen back from a peak of 5.02$/gal in mid June to the current price of 4.08$/gal.
  • So far, the lower prices have not resulted in a pick up in US gasoline demand. In fact, EIA data for last week showed gasoline and diesel demand falling further below normal levels. Gasoline demand now more than 1mbpd below the 2015-2019 average
