US LNG Exports Down 2.73% in September

US exports of LNG fell in September amid outages at terminals, according to Reuters.

  • In total, 7.12m mt of LNG was exported from the US in September, down 2.73% on the month.
  • Europe was the destination for 52% of the exported cargoes, unchanged as a proportion of total exports when compared to August.
  • Asia was the destination for 30% of the exports, while 8% were scheduled for Latin America.
  • Exports were down due to ongoing maintenance at Cove Point LNG, along with reduced flows into Freeport LNG and Sabine Pass. Freeport was offline for almost a week.
