DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last seen at C$1.3359, a touch higher on the day, after
slipping 40 pips yesterday, as WTI advanced, while the greenback was relatively
weak in the wake of disappointing U.S. CPI data.
- The initial bullish target is provided by the 200-HMA at C$1.33667, which also
represents the cloud top. Above here opens the Jan 24 high of C$1.3375. On the
downside, focus falls on C$1.3340, where the rate peaked on Feb 14. A fall below
would allow bears to attempt a move at the Feb 8 high of C$1.3329.
- BoC Snr Dep Gov Wilkins speaks on Thursday and Canadian m'fing sales hit on
Friday. With the Canadian docket rather thin elsewhere, focus will also fall on
domestic political turmoil surrounding the SNC scandal.
