DOLLAR-CANADA
DOLLAR-CANADA: USD/CAD last trades at C$1.3110 almost unchanged on the day.
- The pair has consolidated after Friday's rally on the back of strong U.S./weak
Canadian labour mkt data releases (Canada's wage data was notably weaker than
exp.) and another slip in oil prices, which continued into today's session,
albeit moderately.
- USD/CAD again moved through the broken trendline resistance-turned-support at
C$1.3105 keeping the bull flag alive, the immediate upside focus falls on Nov
1/Oct 31 high at C$1.3169/70. Meanwhile, bears seek a close below the key
C$1.3105 level before targeting the 100-DMA at C$1.3076.
- The Canadian docket is quite thin this week; mid-level data releases include
housing starts, building permits & new housing price index. Elsewhere, BoC's Gov
Poloz is due to speak today.
