DOLLAR-YEN: USD/JPY last trades flat at Y111.42 after dropping 5 pips Monday, as
a ~20 pip leg lower around the 1600GMT London fix allowed it to erase earlier
gains, registered on the back of positive risk appetite noted in the Asia-Pac
session.
- The Nikkei 225 is poised to open unchanged at writing.
- Bears look for a fall through the nearby cloud Tenkan Sen at Y111.36, which
would bring the 21-DMA at Y111.23 into play. Conversely, bulls look for break
above the 200-DMA at Y111.45, which has capped gains thus far, before attempting
a move at Y111.90, where the rate peaked last Friday.
- Key Japanese data releases during the remainder of this week include Nikkei
m'fing PMI and national CPI data, both due Friday, while tomorrow's BoJ Rinban
ops will also provide some interest. Elsewhere, the BoJ will release its Jan
MonPol meeting minutes also on Wednesday.
