BOND SUMMARY: Very quiet start to the week in markets with the highlights on the
data calendar today UK construction PMI which was a bit weaker than exp and US
construction spending for Dec later today.
- US 10y futures are up 0.016 at 121.6719 with 2y cash yields flat at 2.553% and
10y yields down 0.5bp at 2.748%.
- EGB markets have been pretty quiet with the main headline this morning the
announcement of a Greek 10y bond syndication. Bund futures are up 0.18 on the
day to 165.40 with Schatz yields up 0.3bp to -0.506% and 10y Bund yields down
0.7bp at 0.176%. Greek 10y yields are down 4.5bp on the day at 3.588 while most
other peripheral spreads about within a basis point of Friday's close.
- Gilts have sold off a little as Brexit optimism continues with 2y yields 1.7bp
higher at 0.816% and 10y yields up 1.6bp at 1.312%.
