STOCKS: Worries re: protectionist measures kept a lid on stocks, with the major
Asia-Pacific indices operating in a mixed manner.
- The Nikkei 225 and Hang Seng posted marginal losses, with China's CSI 300 &
the ASX 200 recording minor gains. The ASX's modest outperformance stemmed from
a solid showing for the telecoms & financial sectors, although losses for both
the IT & consumer discretionary sectors kept the index in check.
- US index futures printed marginal gains ahead of a raft of domestic risk
events over the next 2 sessions.
