Zloty Extends Gains Amid Expectations Of Changes To Controversial Law

EUR/PLN continues to tumble, losing altitude for the third consecutive day, which allows the zloty to cement its position as the second-best performance in the EMEA space. The rate last deals -304 pips at PLN4.4888, with bears setting their sights on the PLN4.4.4784/67 support area.

  • President Andrzej Duda's proposed changes to the controversial law on a Russian influence probe may bring some reprieve on the political front. Ruling party spokesperson said that the proposed amendments would not defeat the purpose of the legislation, an early indication that parliament might agree to them.
  • The NBP confirmed in a statement that Governor Adam Glapinski will hold his press conference at 14:00BST/15:00CEST on Wednesday, the day after the announcement of the latest monetary policy decision. The MPC meeting and press conference have been brought forward by one day due to a public holiday on Thursday.
