Zondo Report Recommends Charging Zuma Foundation, SOE Execs With Corruption

  • Report shows Zuma involved himself in the operational matters of SOEs such as SARS & Eskom and colluded with the private sector to capture institutions of state.
  • Zondo recommends charging the Zuma foundation with corruption.
    • Zondo recommends charging former SAA board Chair Dudu Mynei with corruption. Also says SARS under former commissioner Moyane was one of the clearest demonstrations of state capture and must be charged with perjury and corruption. SOE contracts with Gupta’s new age newspaper were unlawful.
    • Recommendations: Establish a national charter for SOE procurement, an independent agency to guard against corruption, amend corruption laws, prosecute those accused of wrongdoing, boost procurement transparency, take steps to recover millions from companies/individuals involved in state capture.
