UK: (1/2) Citi summary on the Brexit amendment possibilities today:
- Cooper: Rule out 'No deal', extend article 50. This requires May to allow a
vote to postpone Brexit Day until December 31, 2019 if no deal is reached before
February 26.
- Brady: Supports May's deal, but Backstop must be replaced with "alternative
arrangements to avoid a hard border". It allows for a fair amount of open
interpretation.
- Corbyn (Labour front bench): Prompts parliament to rule out 'No deal' and vote
on Labour deal (Customs Union)
- Lib Dems: Rule out 'No deal' and prepare for Second Referendum.
- Benn: Forces government to hold a series of indicative votes, allowing MPs to
signal which Brexit options they might support.
- Reeves: (Article 50+) Requires the government to ask the EU to postpone
Brexit, without specifying for how long.
