2-year yields at lowest level since May 2023

GILTS
  • 2-year gilt yields have this morning broken through notably support around 3.96% level - the lows seen last Thursday and in December 2023, to the lowest levels since May 2023.
  • At the time of writing 2-year gilt yields are 7.8bp lower on the day at 3.911%.
  • There is likely some resistance (i.e. support for yields) around 3.87% (drawn on the chart with the horizontal white line - but there is no obvious near-term resistance level for 2-year gilts.
  • There is also a Fibo retracement at 3.94% from at 61.8% of the November level to the July 2023 highs (using the generics) that has been broken in these moves - which has provided decent support / resistance in recent times.
