20-Year Auction Details

KOREA RATES

The South Korean MOF will today auction KRW 800bn of 20-year bonds, issue KTB 01500-4009. Results due after 0330BST/1030HKT.

  • The MOF last sold 20-Year debt on April 27, the sale drew a yield of 2.145% and was covered 3.156x. The sale was slightly smaller at KRW 700bn.
  • Yesterday's 5-year sale went down smoothly, even as the MOF sold around KRW 120bn more than was initially indicated. Reports yesterday that the government were considering a second budget, after President Moon indicated there was a remaining fiscal role for the government to play, were quickly quashed by the finance ministry. The initial report saw futures hit session lows, but the denial saw a bid.
