3% Growth in 2023 Would be a "Success"

POLAND
  • Rzeczpospolita reports that Poland should still take it as a warning that five European Commissioners were against unblocking the funds for Poland, as they believed Poland hadn't done enough to improve its rule of law standards.
  • Elsewhere, the Development and Tech minister flagged that Poland may already see PLN 20bln in funds actively working and invested in the economy next year. Despite this, Puls Biznesu chief economist separately writes that the strict terms adhered to the funds may mean Poland will not receive the full pool of money.
  • Late yesterday, Poland’s deputy finance minister stated it would be a “success” if Polish growth hits 3% next year, adding that growth in 2022 should slow to 4-5%.
  • Morawiecki is due to visit Czechia today, and will hold a joint news conference with the Czech PM at 12:30 local time (1130BST / 0630ET)
