EQUITIES

Strong earnings reports from Apple, Amazon and Facebook propelled e-minis higher in after-hours trade, and although the contracts now sit off of their respective Asia-Pac session peaks they have consolidated most of their aftermarket gains.

  • Regional equity trade was a different story in Asia, with notable underperformance for the major Japanese & Australian benchmarks, with local COVID-19 worry apparent in both countries ahead of the weekend, and little in the way of tier one news flow apparent. • Nikkei 225 -2.2%, Hang Seng +0.1%, CSI 300 +0.1%, ASX 200 -1.8%.
  • S&P 500 futures +10, DJIA futures +76, NASDAQ 100 futures +108.
