US: A senior White House official told reporters Wednesday it's "about time" the
House votes to send its impeachment articles against U.S. President Donald Trump
to the Senate and that the White House expects the trial to wrap up rather
quickly.
"The facts are simple and the facts are on the president's side," the senior
administration official said. "When you have an easy case, you don't need a lot

"These are the weakest articles of impeachment that have been passed in any
presidential impeachment," the official said, adding that the White House is
happy to finally have the opportunity to "vindicate" the president.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi named managers for the impeachment process Wednesday
and a vote on the resolution is expected this afternoon. Once that's approved,
the managers will deliver the articles to the Senate.
