A$ Shrugs Off Weaker Retail Sales, RBA Governor Bullock In Focus Later

AUD/USD initially dipped post the retail sales miss (-0.2% m/m, versus 0.1% forecast). We got to a low of 0.6608, from around 0.6615 prior. However, there hasn't been much follow through, the currency last in 0.6605/10 region. Broader USD sentiment remains weaker (BBDXY-0.10%), with JPY leading other currencies in the G10 space by a comfortable margin (+0.40%).

  • This is a continuation of trends from the Monday session, where USD sentiment remained broadly weak.
