ACER to Create Single EU LNG Price Assessment

ACER to apply an updated version of the methodology for its LNG price assessments to create a single LNG price for the whole of the EU from March 8.

  • Since 13th January, EU Council Regulation has required ACER to publish a daily LNG price assessment but on some days there were insufficient eligible LNG spot transactions to calculate the price.
  • The single LNG price will be calculated on top of the current prices for the NW Europe and South Europe.
  • ACER will extend the calculation window from five to ten days and weight toward the most recent transactions.
  • ACER will applying the new methodology from 8 March in order to verify before go-live on 31 March.
