After a period of quiet following the deaths...>

ASIA
ASIA: After a period of quiet following the deaths of a number of soldiers on
the Sino-Indian border on June 15, Indian PM gives address in which he says that
the "soldiers' sacrifice will not be in vain".
- Says that "We have displayed our abilities when it comes to protecting our
sovereignty. Bravery and valour is a part of the nation's character."
- "India wants peace, but it is capable of giving a befitting reply when
needed."
- MNI View: With two leaders in place with nationalistic tendencies there is a
notable risk of further escalation in tensions and violence along the border,
although this is unlikely to spill over into any wider conflict. Both sides keen
to appear strong and test the other's resolve, but neither is in a position to
launch major offensive against the other.
