EQUITIES
EQUITIES: After closing the session at the day's highs on Friday, US equity
futures moderated Monday, but hold close to the top end of the recent range
ahead of the cash open, which is indicated roughly flat. E-mini S&P eyeing
3058.25 (Friday high) as the initial intraday resistance, with 3065.50 the
recovery high just above. Further out, markets need to top and close above the
3108.75 Fib retracement level to stage any longer-term move on the alltime highs
printed in February.
- In Europe, equities are stronger to catch up on the positive Wall Street close
Friday and outperformance in regional Asian stocks overnight.
- For continental markets, energy, communication and financial names are the top
performers as cyclicals outperform over defensives, with healthcare and
utilities the laggards today. As UK lockdown easing rules are eased, retail,
airline and property stocks are also trading well.
