Americas to Buy More Gasoline From Asia Instead of USGC

The Americas will increasingly buy gasoline from Asia, as exports from the US Gulf Coast are expected to be limited, Sparta Commodities said in a note, cited by Bloomberg.

  • Flows from regions such as North Asia to the US West Coast are expected to rise soon as US Gulf Coast supplies are like to remain within Florida and Mexico in the coming weeks, while gasoline shipments from Asia to the west coast of Mexico are becoming increasingly economical.
  • European gasoline is also “currently enjoying an unseasonably robust position,” curbing the region’s exports to US PADD-1 and to markets in the East.
