  • The comment comes following the devastating tragedy overnight where a trailer truck jammed full of Central American migrants crashed Thursday into a pedestrian bridge, killing at least 53 migrants and injuring more than 50 others in southern Mexico, authorities said.
  • The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on the road leading into Tuxtla Gutierrez, the capital of Chiapas state.
  • Luis Manuel Garcia Moreno, head of civil protection in Chiapas, said the truck was carrying 107 people when it crashed. (Wall Street Journal)
