  • ANC in KZN says there won’t be a repeat of the July riots, which followed a court ruling sending Jacob Zuma to jail for being in contempt of the Constitutional Court.
    • The ANC said it would be engaging with communities in the province to get ahead of any unrest that may be brewing
  • Energy expert estimates the R75bm in constriction investment could be unlocked by recent moves to increase the self-generation threshold from 1-100mw and Eskom to allow IPPs to rent land around old stations to gain access to transmission infrastructure.
    • This combined with the R131bn from the COP26 summit agreement should help attract more investment
  • SA records 24,785 new covid cases & 36 deaths. SA remains on level 1 restrictions, however, as Ramaphosa would be acutely aware of crimping economic activity in peak tourism season.
    • The NCCC acknowledged SA was in a 4th wave, but called on citizens to get vaccinated and observe public safety measures
