ANO To Hand Over Signatures Under No-Confidence Motion Tomorrow

The opposition ANO movement has collected signatures under a petition to call a no-confidence vote against the government and will hand them over on Friday, CT24 tweets via its official account.

  • Earlier this week ANO signalled its intention to initiate a no-confidence debate, which was dismissed by governing coalition leaders as a campaign tactic of the movement's leader Andrej Babis.
  • The motion will almost certainly be defeated given the coalition's majority in the lower house of parliament. ANO's previous attempt to unseat the government failed just a few months ago.
  • The no-confidence debate will allow ANO and its leader to get some additional media attention in the interim between the two rounds of the presidential election, with Babis expected to make it into the runoff.
