- Kaplan (neutral, 2020 vote) probably the most interesting to hear from today;

unlike Kaplan, we know Mester has made comments since the July FOMC, and said

that a hold rather than a cut at that meeting would have been her 'preferred

strategy' but was a 'close call'.

- Also Kaplan occupies the middle ground.

- Pre-FOMC he talked about possibly supporting a 'tactical, modest, restrained,

limited' rate cut; said projected a flat path for rates in the June dot plot.

He's one of the members who has expressed concern about yield curve inversion,

despite otherwise leaning hawkish.
