April 20 Initial Claims Preview - 08:30.....>

US DATA
US DATA: April 20 Initial Claims Preview - 08:30 EDT/13:30 BST
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Initial claims are expected to rise to 200,000 based on the Bloomberg
consensus and to 201,000 by an MNI survey of analysts. This follows a dip to
192,000 (a 50-year low) in the previous week.
- If the forecasts are correct, the four-week moving average would dip even
further as a 212,000 reading rolls out of the calculation.
- Some timing issues with spring break may be partially to blame for the recent
low levels of claims, but even outside the noise there appears to be real
improvement.
- It remains to be seen if this trend can continue, but the already-release data
appear to be large positive factor for April payrolls.
